An Epic Day
The Maui Hero Project is celebrating its 10th anniversary in mythic style! We are holding a 4-hour rite of passage at the Hope Chapel in Kehei led by our current 8th grade mentors from Lokelani and Kalama Intermediate Schools.
The event will feature large group games and activities, including our 6-foot earthball, the coolest music, mentor teachings, personal stories and the telling of an epic myth! There will also be time for small group shares and a speak out at the end. It will be emotional but very fun...like how we do it!
There will be free dinner from Da Kitchen and a 2-hour dance at the end with music that you pick!! $500 in Queen Ka'ahumanu gift cards and Maui Hero t-shirts will be given away too!!
The cost is free, but you have to have your parents sign the paperwork to get in and you MUST STAY THE ENTIRE TIME!!
We are needing 25-adult volunteers to commit to the entire time and also a small dinner crew for a brief window around 4pm.
ALL STUDENTS must have you parent fill out the form if you are under 18-years old and return it to a Maui Hero Mentor, Mr. Loren in order to come.
Only 7th and 8th graders from Lokelani Intermediate School are invited to attend or past graduates from the Maui Hero Project that go to high school.
